Kevin is a great dog who was a stray to the shelter and hasn't had an easy time of it recently but we will change thatm ASAP!. He has a really nice personality and has not met anyone that he hasn't greeted with a happily wagging tail. He likes to retrieve and play with balls. Kevin takes treats very nicely, has good house manners, and likes car rides as he gets to go new places. This handsome pup would like a family that has a fenced yard and that will give him lots of love, play time, and walks. More on Kevin as we get to know him better.

Handsome Kuma is looking for love! He's a wonderfully affectionate young guy who loves everyone he meets. This fun-loving, energetic young pup needs an active home where his people can keep up with his abundant energy. He would love a fenced back yard to chase squirrels and a porch where he can curl up with his human to watch the world go by. He has a high prey drive but is inquisitive and attentive, making him a great training partner and companion. This smart guy makes beautiful eye contact with those bright, curious eyes. Kuma will reward you with lots of love and cuddles. He’s very affectionate! He is good with other dogs but working on being more calm around them… the reason he is currently recommended to be an only dog. He loves puzzle toys and chasing after balls, though he's not great at bringing them back. Your new best friend, Kuma, is anxiously waiting for you.  

Lily is a happy pup who thinks being with you and getting attention is great. She is great with woman but a bit shy with men, most likely from being mistreated before she came into the shelter. But this sweetie then warms up to men who go slow with her. Lily loves to go out in the yard to play with the other dogs. She likes to go for rides and was super on the ride from NC north. Lily would like to meet a family that has a fenced yard and that will give her love, attention, and training she deserves.

Lola is a happy, silly girl with a delightful personality. Her foster family says she is one of the sweetest pups they have ever met. She absolutely adores humans and loves to cuddle on the couch, happily laying by your side or climbing onto your lap. She also loves to be outside and enjoys hanging out on the deck where she can watch the chipmunks and squirrels. She is great in the car and is always up for a road trip, especially if it's to McDonald's. Lola has perfect house manners and is always well-behaved when she is home alone (as long as the counters don’t have goodies on them). She enjoys collecting random items from around the house and will lay with them in her favorite spots. She enjoys a short midday walk or backyard playtime, and then has a longer walk in the evening. After her walk she may do her favorite thing - rolling around in the grass! Lola loves to play but also loves to be by your side, preferably at home or in your yard. She is easy to love and brings smiles to those around her every day.

The world of sweet Markie and Lil Joe continues to get better everyday. There has been tremendous positive change for these two over the last few months. Lil Joe has no trepidation about humans and will greet you to say hello. Markie still likes treats to say hello, but she will stick around for pets too. These two currently reside with a foster who runs a doggy daycare, and they absolutely love the other dogs. They greet the humans at the gate, but their true desire is playing with their four-legged friends when they get a chance. Their foster says they settle down well and have a nice demeanor. Markie (nicknamed CiCi) and LJ (nicknamed Bubba) aren't super in your space snugglers, but they will sleep close to you. Their gorgeous eyes that used to be full of fear are now full of curiosity and understanding. Millie is doing great in her foster home. She loves her morning walks, which include zoomies. Afterwards Millie sleeps in the window/on the couch most of the day. She needs another walk in the late afternoon too, but settles down easily. She cuddles with foster mom on the couch in the evenings. She is honestly a sweet and easy dog. Millie is housebroken and crate trained. She goes right in at night and goes to bed with no fuss. Millie loves her walks and does well on her gentle leader. She likes other dogs and would benefit from slow introductions since she likes to be persistent in trying to play. Millie continues to meet people and is friendly and inviting. She cuddles with new people and will fall asleep curled up against them. Everyone who has met her thinks she is adorable, sweet, and kind.

Monroe is a sweet calm boy who is a favorite at the kennel where he is currently living.  Monroe has good leash manners.  He is also an excellent car rider.  More on Monroe as we get to know him better

Break out of that fugue! Handsome Mozart is orchestrating a move to a loving home with an awesome family! This young musician takes a minute to warm up (for now), but once he does he enjoys company and pets--his tail wags like a metronome, and he barks to ask you to come back! He would prefer a home where people are home more often than not.  We're betting Mozart will enjoy trying out different things with his new family, from long walks and swimming to toys and cuddles on the couch! Mozart is adjusting to the routine in his foster home. Despite being deaf, Mozart can tell when the resident dogs bark. He doesn't react to clapping, yelling, or even sirens, but very much reacts to dogs barking. Who's that handsome fella? It's Otis! Otis has arrived at his foster home, and his foster mom reports that he is the goodest boy! He walks well on leash and is enjoying short walks of about 20 minutes twice a day. Belly rubs and cuddles are sure to win over this distinguished gentleman! This gorgeous girl is active, sweet, and loves to play. People and dogs are her friends. Pinky's the type of girl who prefers to be on the go having a good time, whether that be chasing toys or running around a fenced yard! An active family or owner would be best for this fun girl. As they said about her at boarding - Pinky is party ready!

Piper has been a fantastic mama to her Breakfast Snack litter and is now ready to be pampered, spoiled, and loved on her own! She has proven herself to be incredibly sweet and has charmed all humans and canines who have met her! She would love a canine companion in her forever home, or at least the opportunity for playdates, as she really engages with both big dogs and her now-independent puppies. Piper loves to cuddle (with humans and dogs!) and will crawl up on your lap if you let her, and gives sweet kisses. In fact, you may mistake her for a shadow, or she may just try to climb into your pocket to stay there forever! She enjoys chasing after toys, and playing with the resident dogs. Naps in the sunshine are her absolute favorite. A fast learner, Piper knows to come to her name, sit, and is working on learning a few more commands. She picked up on the routine of the house quickly. Being young, Piper is crated when foster mom has to go to work and is so excited to come out and play when foster mom is home for lunch hour. She would love having humans home during the day so she doesn't have to be crated as often. This sweetheart will add some love and fun to any family!

When Rafa first joined her fosters, she was still unsure of how to 'dog' but she’s learned how to play with the pack and loves everyone. She does retrieve, and her favorite thing to do is to play soccer with you. She will defend the dribble and bring back the ball if you kick it away. Rafa loves to cuddle her humans and will also cuddle right up against another dog for company too--she's an equal opportunity snuggler. Rafa respects her elder dogs, and knows how to play with the younger ones. She is good in the car and has run of the house when her fosters are away. She is an enthusiastic eater and bonds hard with her people. When she first came to Lab Rescue she had almost no fur but will love and proper care, she now looks beautiful! Rafa has epilepsy, which is controlled with affordable medication. Rafa will be an excellent addition to any home; she has so much love to give and she will bring such joy to her new forever home. Rebel has been living the high life with one of our trainers for the past few weeks. He currently enjoys multiple daily play sessions with both male and female dogs and has shown excellent social skills, and even has a best buddy! Rebel goes on regular walks alongside other dogs and people, and isn't concerned with passing dogs or people. Rebel has medium energy and settles nicely inside the house. He's smart and enjoys a variety of supervised enrichment activities, including: Snuffle mats, Puzzle toys, Licking mats, Frozen Kongs, Long-lasting chews. Rebel recently attended a group agility class and was calm, well-behaved, and non-reactive to both dogs and people -- great confidence-building experience! Rebel's only ask is that his home be one with fewer comings and goings; he is not comfortable around small children. He's a very affectionate guy, and loves to swim! He takes treats gently and loves a car ride. He's continuing to master basic obedience skills and would thrive in a home that enjoys training, enrichment, and outdoor adventures.

Roscoe found his way to Lab Rescue after roaming a bit too much and getting in to trouble at his previous abode. Therefore, this guy needs a physical fence. Besides a fence, Roscoe is a very friendly and playful boy. He appears to be house trained and is keeping his run clean at the vet. He is good on leash and a good rider in the car.
