Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.
-
Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >
-
Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Duke is a very handsome, dark chocolate Lab mix, with very cute patches of white fur on his chest and paws. He is sweet boy who, although he has happily settled into his foster home, would love to find a new, forever, home. Duke has good manners in the house and won't bother a thing. He loves his people, and would do better where someone is home more often than not. Duke is a gentle pup and knows his commands: sit, stay, come, no and, of course, “let’s go for a walk!” He is inquisitive, sweet, intelligent and really enjoys his walks and sniffing all the news that’s fit to sniff! He loves spending time with his humans. He's a sweet, good boy who will make some family very happy.

Jacey

Female
Age:
9 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical fence and another dog
Happy girl just finding her way!
Sweet, gentle Jacey has really started to come out of her shell. She’s still a bit timid, but she’s such a happy girl. When the mood strikes, she’ll join in playtime; and when she’s done, she’s perfectly content relaxing in her crate or curled up in her bed. She travels beautifully in the car and is truly such an easy, delightful dog to have around. Her favorite thing is playing with her best friend, the resident dog! They love to wrestle and run about in the yard. Jacey is so excited to see her friend every morning. She will need a home with another dog who is just as playful and confident as her newest friend. Although she may never be a super cuddle-bug and will startle if you move too quickly in the house or yard, she is a gentle, kind soul who wants so much to be loved, she's continuing to work on being brave in order get the attention she seems to crave. Jacey is considered hospice due to the malignant growth in her mouth, but someone forgot to tell her. Her zest for life is contagious! Her tail does not stop wagging! Jacey is such a sweet, happy companion who just wants love and gentle pets from her patient people.

Layla #2
Gender:
Female
Age:
12 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home
Lovely Layla!
Lovely Layla is an absolute gem. This gentle lady is looking for a new home after her owner passed away. She still has some spunk for her age and is a happy, affectionate gal. Foster mom says she is very easy going, and wasn't even bothered by the snow and ice. Layla LOVES everyone, human and canine alike, and is very adaptable to new situations and people. She would be very happy to be in a loving home with or without other dogs, as long as she has some company during the day. She loves cuddling and attention, naps on soft beds, and enjoys playing fetch and tug of war with toys! Layla would appreciate her new family throwing rugs or other covers on slick floors and would prefer a home without full flights of stairs. Though, she can handle a few steps. If you'd like a lovely gal in her Golden Years to fill your heart, come meet Layla today! She's an absolute delight.

A loving forever home
Loving Lola
Lovely Loving Lola is looking for a new home to live out her senior years. She certainly doesn't look her age but she definitely has the wisdom as she knows a lot of commands including sit, stay, down, paw, upstairs, downstairs, outside, house, out, go potty, and come. Whew, what a smart girl! She loves to play, especially tennis balls, and go for walks and car rides. Lola is very chill on leash, stays by your side, and couldn't care less about outside noises, bikes, kids, or cars. She is good with dogs of all sizes and people who come to visit, but is unknown with cats. She had free rein of the house and doesn't get on furniture. She loves getting cheese, apples, carrots and greenies as treats. Lola is a zen dog who would love to share her remaining senior years with her new family.

Mabel is a sweet, easy-going, well-mannered, house-broken, loving senior who, after being abandoned in a vacant house, deserves to spend her last years with lots of naps and love from a forever family. She is doing well with her foster family, and interacts will with their visitors, and other dogs. Mabel has excellent leash manners. She is also does well in the car. Mabel doesn't mind being crated. She does need some assistance getting up on couches or beds. Mabel really needs a family to help her make the most of her senior years.

Nova #2
Gender:
Female
Age:
12 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving home with few stairs
Beautiful Stellar Girl!
THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.
Nova #2 is an absolute sweetheart! She is very low maintenance and really enjoys a soft spot. She has a couple dog beds she has an affinity for. She sleeps a lot of the day and then peacefully through the night on her dog bed in the bedroom. She really enjoys wandering in the yard and loves that the front yard of her foster home is fenced so she can wander and lounge and check out all the new smells, returning when she is satisfied all is well. Nova is good with other dogs but can get knocked over by the younger ones, so she will do best in a home without rambunctious pups. This lovely lady also needs a home with very few stairs, as she has age-related arthritis. She looks for a reward after being a really good girl (which is very often) and takes her treats very gently. Nova is just a sweet, easy-going, older girl looking for love and a soft spot to lay her head.

Rudolph

A loving forever home with a physical fence and only dog in the home
Rudolph the Chocolate Lab!
THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.
Rudolph is a super sweet senior. Happy is an understatement for this guy! He is very enthusiastic about his training work and is doing very well. Among other things, he’s working on sit and wait for his food, which he LOVES! Overall Rudolph is a very food-motivated, willing dog, and picks up on new skills quickly! He will do best in a quiet home where people and children are not visiting regularly. He is good with cats, not reactive on leash or behind a fence toward dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog, so he can be the center of your attention, of course. Though he is working on his leash walking, Rudolph is a strong guy, so a fenced yard over leashed walks may be preferred. He enjoys to retrieve and is very good with the household routine. Rudolph LOVES his stuffed toys and parades them around the house. Could you be this sweet, lovable guy’s retirement family?

Tuck
Gender:
Male
Age:
10 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats, possibly townhomes
Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical fence and only dog in the home
Great walking buddy!
THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.
Tuck continues to ace every test that comes his way while in foster care! He recently experienced the joys of a home remodel; and managed it better than most humans. He warmly greeted the folks that came and went. He stayed close to his person when he was unsure what to do. And he even managed to ignore the noise and nap when the time came. Tuck is smart, sweet, and quite fit. He loves going on walks, driving in the car, meeting new people, and spending time with his people. Tuck knows some commands, listens well, communicates very well, and is easy to handle. He has the run of the house and can be left alone without any problems. He loves to sniff, he loves to watch his person, and he loves children. He is an effective communicator, which does mean he'll communicate his needs back to you as well. Overall, he's easy to handle and hopeful to find a home where he can become part of the family, whatever that looks like.
